Introduction of FPSC:
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is a constitutional body established under Article 242 of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan, with its functions outlined in the FPSC Function Rules 1978. Comprising a Chairman and 11 Members as per Section 3 of the FPSC Ordinance 1977, Members must be retired civil servants of BS-21 or above, including at least one retired judge, a senior armed forces officer (Major General or equivalent), and one woman from the private sector. Appointed by the President for a 3-year term or until age 65, the FPSC conducts recruitment tests and examinations for public services and advises the President on qualification and recruitment methods for posts in basic pay scales 16 and above.
