What is the Asaan Karobar Card Scheme?
The Asaan Karobar Card is a government-backed financial assistance program for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan. It provides Who Cannot Apply for the Asaan Karobar Card?:

- Financial support for startups and existing businesses
- A simple registration and loan approval process
The government has partnered with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and other financial institutions to make this scheme easy to access. However, not every business or individual qualifies for this support.
Who is Ineligible for the Asaan Karobar Card?
Even though this program helps many businesses, some individuals and businesses do not qualify. Below are the main reasons why someone cannot apply for the Asaan Karobar Card.
⇒ Individuals with Outstanding Loans or Debts
People who already have unpaid loans or debts from banks or other government financial programs cannot apply. The government wants to help those who are financially responsible and do not have previous unpaid loans.
⇒ Unregistered Businesses
Businesses must be legally registered to qualify for the Asaan Karobar Card. If a business is not registered with any of the following authorities, it will not be eligible:
- Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)
- Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP)
- Local chambers of commerce
If a business does not have the correct registration, it cannot get financial support through this scheme.
⇒ Businesses Engaged in Restricted Activities
Some businesses do not fit the government’s economic goals and are not eligible for this program. These include:
- Illegal businesses
- Industries that harm the environment
- Businesses that do not follow ethical and legal standards
If a business is involved in any of these activities, it cannot apply for the Asaan Karobar Card.
⇒ Individuals with Criminal Records
People with a criminal background, including cases of financial fraud, money laundering, or other major crimes, are not allowed to apply for this program. The government ensures that only law-abiding citizens receive financial aid.
⇒ Government Employees
This program is only for private-sector entrepreneurs. If a person is working in any government department or public sector organization, they cannot apply for the Asaan Karobar Card.
